It's called sensitivity. I would oppose a Japanese Shinto shrine built near Pearl Harbor as well. Especially if they intended to open it on Dec 7.

Do they have the right to build it? Of course they do, I have no idea why someone sold them the property but they own it so they can do with it as they like, but IF they were truly about peace they would absolutely CHOOSE not to build it. That's not even debatable, this is something we learn as children, well normally, if you're classmates are opposed to you doing something and you wish to get along with them, you DON'T do it anyway. MOST Americans are opposed to this.

What You should first learn when you come to America is that People have equal Rights and protection here, even if they are not Muslim or Male. Next you should learn that it is not okay to decapitate people because they believe differently than you, or behave differently, or speak freely, or convert away from Islam. THey plan on the building taking 3 years to complete, but they intend to have it at leat partially open to the public on 9/11/2011
