Twin Falls, Idaho • Police say a Twin Falls man was arrested after reportedly threatening a Muslim woman shopping at the city’s Walmart.

The Times-News reports that 42-year-old man was arraigned Thursday on a charge of felony malicious harassment in Twin Falls County 5th District Court.

Police say Larsen approached the woman who was wearing a traditional Muslim head covering and was accompanied by her two children. After asking if she was Muslim, Larsen allegedly told the woman that he had been in Iraq and had friends killed there and that she didn’t belong in the United States.

Witnesses reported hearing the man scream at the woman, telling her he had a concealed weapon, had killed Muslims and would kill more.

Twin Falls police say there is no place for prejudice in the community.

As usual, the state's enforcers have it wrong. Larsen's behavior was inappropriate and likely misdemeanor level illegal. However, there is no place for state sanction on ideas (a much greater crime against liberty), no matter how odious.

Well, read between the lines. Their public relations officer likely wrote up this politically correct, touchy feely response.

BUT........the man wasn't arrested for anything to do with Muslims. He was arrested for simple assault. Implying he had a weapon, and that he was willing to use it. That got him in jail. Not what he said about Iraq.

Had he not implied he had a gun, and only said that she didn't belong here, he could NOT have been arrested unless he refused to leave her alone after being advised to. His implied threat is what got it. Assault can be verbal if there is a reasonable suspicion that the person has the ability to harm the person. He said he had a gun and implied he'd use it. Thats verbal assault.

Muslims? Get over it.
