Despite the opposition, Obama set a record for job growth that began in 2010, 7 years before Trump took office, and lasted until 2019, which was Trump's third year.4 Obama created 8.1 million jobs. Trump is given credit for 6.5 million. Trump's best year of job growth was lower than Obama's last 3 years. For those who want to say that Obama had 8 years and Trump had 4, Obama came into office when the nation was hemorrhaging jobs, losing thousands of jobs per month. Trump entered with an economy experiencing record growth. He had everything he needed to create more jobs than Obama, but didn’t. The pandemic is no excuse, considering that nations with fewer resources than we have experienced less economic harm.
