My team has gotten crushed with injuries this year. How is your team holding up?

The reason I ask is because it seems like injuries are piling up more than usual this year. I don’t have the data to back this up yet so I’m just going off of anecdotal information for now.

We have played a few teams who, like us, are also dealing with a significant amount of injuries. For anyone who plays fantasy football, there have been several prominent players getting knocked out for multiple games. Is this issue getting worse around the league or is it just my team?

Your thoughts?

The Packers lost the best young TE to a torn ACL yesterday.

Yeah, if it gets much worse they are going to have to start putting them down like racehorses. ;)

Jokes aside I suspect the NFL is gonna be forced to increase team rosters by and by.

I was thinking about Kraft and Jayden Daniels when I put this up.

I feel especially bad for Kraft who seemed like he was just now emerging as one of the best. Terrible.

Been a while since the Packers had a top TE, then this happens.

I'm a Niners Fan.

Banged up is the politically correct nomenclature for it.

lol

They will go to an 18-game schedule sooner rather than later also.

They have traded quality for quantity.

The regular season has been extended but players are faster and stronger now and can’t handle the physical punishment of an even longer season. So we’re going to be watching lots of back-ups playing against each other.

Since I don’t see them reducing the amount of games, roster depth is going to be a big issue moving forward. I agree that they will increase roster sizes. With that, an increased salary cap.

Another idea: give each term an extra bye week in the regular season.

Hardly a surprise. Players keep getting bigger, faster, stronger. Only so much those new giant helmets can do.

When they go to 18 games they will go to a 20-week season.

Skattabo's injuries were horrific, the result of a dirty hip drop tackle by the Eagles Zack Baun. Still NO FINE from the NFL even though Baun has committed to pay all of Skattabo's medical bills, admission of guilt.

It seems to get a little worse each year.

But like you, I have not seen any data to back it up.

All I know is I just lost Kraft as my starting TE.

I've been watching the NFL for a long, long time.
And I have never seen so many injuries in my life.
They have fewer full pad practices nowadays, dictated by the collective bargaining agreement, so you would think players would be fresher and LESS prone to injury. And yet we see a rash of them every single week; lots of broken bones, ACLs, MCLs, etc.
I have no explanation but it really robs the fans of some great players every year, particularly quarterbacks. Look at Joe Burrow. He's spent more time on the IR than almost any QB I can think of since coming into the league, robbing us all of a fantastic performer. :dunno:

QB in the shotgun are sometimes sitting ducks on a full speed 250lb steroid choking blitzing animal.

Hence the flag football rules on the QB now. But for if they got the ball. But polite tackles are encouraged. NYG on Joe Thiesman leg comes to mind.//

That was a really unfortunate injury. I’m not a Giants fan, but I think most fans would agree that Skattebo was incredibly fun to watch. He plays with so much energy and passion. I hope to see him back next year.

Exactly. Fans want to see the best players out there. Instead, we’re watching back-up quarterbacks protected by back-up linemen slinging the ball to 3rd-string receivers.

The games are almost starting to feel like pre-season games.
