Gavin Newsom today warned local residents in LA not to loot around fire sites and instead focus on legal shoplifting at their local retail stores. "I have to tell people to stay away from these fire zones, you could get hurt out their looting your neighbor's property in these smoldering disaster zones, otherwise it would be great. You are far safer at your local retail store where they can't arrest you for shoplifting anything worth more than $950. So, don't go over the $950-per-thief misdemeanor limit when you shoplift, Ok?
