Why are we told every half hour about the market? How the wealthy are doing has little to do with the American Everyman. They should also tells how the guy at the crap table did just now . They should tell how many humans were killed in each conflict zone today. They should tell how much pollution occurred.

/------/ Are you serious? First of all, 1/2 of the country is invested in the market, so are you if you have a pension plan and/or a 401k.
Secondly, if you don't want to hear it, just don't listen. I don't follow sports, so I turn off the sports reports or just ignore them.
Thirdly, nobody cares how some stranger does gambling, except for the lottery winners.
Finally, deaths in war zones are reported as they happen, at least in major conflicts.
Geez, get a life.
162 million adults
Approximately 61% of Americans own stock in some form, according to recent data. This figure reflects a recovery in public market participation since the 2008 financial crisis, with 162 million adults investing in stocks, which is about 62% of U.S. adults.

But day by day it has zero meaning. Only the wealthy get “daily”money out of the market. That 61% have their part go up and down without any ability to alter. My point is I don’t want to hear today up 60000 point then the next day down million points,

/---/ None of that is true. But your class envy is on full display.

What is your day to day reaction to the reports. Went up 600 points went down 876 points ?
/---/ Not much. It's a small percentage. Besides, most of my portfolio is buy and hold. I collect weekly dividends and trade calls and puts.

Recall ENRON in that day to day . The issue is that the drone on the market reenforces the believe that the state of this gambling is the best way to create an economy. Yet there is zero liquid wealth

/—-/ I never touched Enron. Besides there hundreds more that prospered like TSLA, APPLE, Microsoft, and more.

Every month our local casino numbers do get reported in the news and whether it is up or down from the previous month because the local government has become addicted to that tax revenue it generates. A certain percentage of it has to be spent on recreation/tourism as part of some grant program that helped get the infrastructure improvements built so they are constantly finding new ways to waste budget it.
