And it's everything Trump wanted :D

  • Fund the gov't for the next 3 months.
  • Suspend the debt ceiling for 2 years.
  • Fund the farmers
  • 110 billion for hurricane relief.

See what speaker Johnson can do when Trump kicks him in the ass?

(listening to it on FBN...looking for a link).

Does it increase the U.S deficit?

What is different here from the original, just the debt ceiling issue or what else? Apparently it is 116 pages so that is considerably less obviously.

The belt has to tighten. it will be done voluntarily or by force. The second option would be very unfortunate for the worlds citizens.

I am concerned the second Trump term is going to not address the debt issue. When the country goes bankrupt, he will own it, regardless of those before him. He will be known as a RINO long after he leaves office. He cannot have tunnel vision, it has to be about the U.S debt. It must be. He ran on this.

Roy from Texas is a hard no and if the money spent remains so high, I don't blame him. He can't be primaried either, Texans aren't weak, they understand what's at stake.

Musk will eventually part with Trump I suspect. He knows that solvency is going to be a real issue. Trump coming out so quickly doesn't make sense. He is hurting his own credibility.

House lawmakers may vote on the new bill as early as Thursday evening.

But it's not immediately clear if it would pass. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, who also led opposition to the initial bill, also blasted the new deal.

"More debt. More government. Increasing the Credit Card $4 trillion with ZERO spending restraint and cuts. HARD NO," Roy wrote on X.

Usually the media plays that "we're only paying bills we made when we borrowed money last time and Merica pays it's bills" until you can move your lips with the words, and not comprehending what they just said. I haven't heard that yet, maybe they're switching tactics.

You still have tons of excess spending from what I can glean.

Elmo had it pre written.

It will get no democratic votes.

We already had a bipartisan deal.

What for other Congresses is a yawn...

LOL

It’s not yet clear when lawmakers will vote on the passage. House leaders are working to finalize the package and transfer it to the Rules Committee, teeing it up for a vote as soon as Thursday evening or Friday morning.

If Republicans can manage to get the bill through the committee and to the floor, it would only require a simple majority to clear the lower chamber — saving Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) from having to rely on a majority of Democrats to pass the measure.

Here you go OP:

Washington — House Republicans are moving forward with a new plan to keep the government funded through the spring and suspend the nation's debt limit for two years, hinting at a possible resolution to avoid a shutdown before Friday's deadline with a vote expected as soon as Thursday evening.

The House descended into chaos Wednesday when a GOP revolt spurred by President-elect Donald Trump and Elon Musk sank the original deal that House Speaker Mike Johnson reached with Democrats. Republicans huddled on Capitol Hill on Thursday crafting a new way forward.

The new deal would extend government funding for three months, suspend the debt ceiling until January 2027 and provide $110 billion in disaster aid. It also includes health care policy extenders, funding for rebuilding Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge and a renewal of the farm bill for one year.

Republicans released the text of the bill ahead of the expected vote. The new version is 116 pages, compared to the 1,547 pages that constituted the original continuing resolution.

Nelson Ha-Ha.
