No need to wait. The truck will be 212" long, only be offered in a 4-door configuration, and will have a puny bed of 60" or less. If "we" are lucky, they will make the space between the wheel wells 49" or so, to accommodate drywall or plywood. It's drivetrain will be the Pentastar 3.6L V6 or a two liter turbo four, or a two liter turbo four with a 30 mile battery & motor.

The question will be, Why would anyone buy it? It will duplicate the other "American" mid-size trucks. Will they put a Hurricane 6 in it? Doubtful. The engine bay might not be long enough. A Hemi? In your dreams.

If there is no outstanding reason to buy it...I don't hold out much hope for it. They sure won't try to make it an inexpensive truck.

I am hopeful but not optimistic.

not everyone needs a big truck,,

for some it will be perfect size

That's not "mid-sized", just another damn crew cab with a pretty much useless bed.
useless for you doest me its useless for others,,

over my 50 yrs in the service trades I have seen a lot of jobs where the bigger beds are a waste,,

Anything less than 6.50 ft is useless.....Just an SUV with a dinky bed.
maybe in your world,,

why is it people put down anything that doesnt fit into their little world when there are billions of other people in the world with different needs??

Well in a perfect would there would be a 4X4 SUV with a 2' bed so you could haul gas cans. trash, etc, without stinking up the inside of your vehicle. ;)

again,, the world doesnt revolve around you and your needs,,

for a lot of people nd businesses this truck is better than a big one,,

It still a damn Dodge, can't get past that.
I have had 24 yrs of good success with dodge trucks,, cant say that with the fords before them,,

and spending 12 yrs as a mechanic I made more money fixing fords nd chevys,,

now I do wish they would make a king cab version,, I dont like just having 2 doors d nothing behind them,,

I sold my dodge dually because I didn't need it to tow and had to look like hell for just a regular 2 door cab, and wanted a short bed. Got a used ford and 2 wheel drive, don't need 4 wheel anymore, but that's not even available anymore. Those long bed crew cabs are great if you need them, but I seem to park a lot more now than pick up a logging crew. Just get as much as you need, you aren't impressing anyone these days.

Drywall and plywood are 96 inches. That's longer than 60 inches.

It's a glorified station wagon, not a truck.

You couldn't pay me to own any brands twin torbo lawn mower engines.
Nothing but more expensive repairs and problems.
Glad I got a truck with a naturally aspirated v8 without that cylinder deactivation crap that eats lifters and cam shafts.

station wagons are enclosed so not a station wagon,,

it is a truck just a smaller one,, and very capable of doing most things you need a truck for including carrying sheet goods,,
