How blind can you be? What on Earth are these Democrats approving of? Are these people hermits that don't go out and buy gas and groceries or pay housing costs or buy cars? How can this be while there is talk all around about Democrats not wanting Biden to run again in 2024? A 74% approval sounds pretty good to me.

Many of the democrat voters we know personally seem content—even eager—to
take one for
the team. They genuinely believe open border replacement, acceptance of COVID lockdowns, two shots and a booster to keep their jobs, wearing masks, the freedom to mass murder unborn children, a stolen election, summer 2020 riots, militarized police, and higher food and gas prices equates to
PATRIOTIC sacrifice.
Case in point: my in-laws. My father-in-law is a lifelong democrat, MIT graduate, son of Irish immigrants, former chemical engineer and lifelong
seriously devoted Catholic. My mother-in-law is a first generation East Indian immigrant from Guyana, earned her master's degree, hails from a traditional Hindu family, and is a convert to Catholicism. On paper and in person (for the most part) together they are among the nicest and most
American couple one could ever meet; they've realized the American dream, put their three children through well known colleges, and otherwise have always been first rate contributors to American civilization. The most fascinating and somewhat horrifying aspect of their character however, is their zealousness in voting year in year out for democratic party cultural Marxism—despite their supposed devout Catholic faith and otherwise sane, genuinely good natured disposition.
Just the other day my father-in-law and I were discussing gun ownership in America. His sorest point of contention on the matter is his belief Americans do not need to own more than one or two guns and those who do piss him off to no end. I am a veteran, so was his father—who served during WWII. Again and again he compared the two of us, his father and I, and went on at length about how his father only ever owned a handgun and a shotgun and that was more than enough for him; obviously he was not so subtly pointing his finger at anyone who'd dare own an AR platform rifle.
I've wanted to confront my in-laws on many occasions about the hypocrisy of their Catholic faith and indirect political support for abortion via their voting history but my wife always intervenes before I can pin them down. About the best I can conclude in their case is they lead some kind of dual band existence where they somehow hold to their Catholic faith yet still vote for all the psychotic democratic party cultural Marxism
and still manage to sleep at night. The duality of their consciousness vis-Ã -vis their religious heritage and voting history is actually quite terrifying in a certain way; they are the classic brainwashed but guiltless sheep. Party commissars of the old Soviet Union would have loved them.
