Current day Argentina, people are living their lives in the city one night when without warning there's an intense aurora, all power and electronics stop working, and large dust particles that are instantly lethal on skin contact begin drifting from the sky, along with a plunge in the temperature.
Main character is trapped at poker night at a friend's house and desperate to leave to find his daughter. It's initially unclear if it's a local or global scale event or natural/accidental/hostile action.
There's some quality panic, too much paranoia, also probably not enough paranoia, and problem solving as people grapple with it. I'm one episode in so I have no idea where the story is going, but the setup is good.
It builds slowly.....Very much NOT a Michael Bay type explosion-fest.
I can't stand listening to anything in Spanish, so I turned on English with subtitles and just don't watch their lips much.
