From the time I first entered the Air Force, I heard tales of the legend of Nemo the Magnificent, the Vietnam War dog who saved Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Vietnam from being overrun by killing two Viet Cong intruders and saving his handler’s life. I finally decided to look into this legend, and what I found on Wikipedia did not match what I had heard over the years. Perhaps Nemo does not deserve the unofficial title of “the Magnificent,” as his actions do not seem to exceed what would be expected of a sentry dog. I can’t say that I’m not disappointed, but sometimes legends grow larger than life. However, I always prefer to know the truth. I am disappointed by this—check out the links and see what you think.

You don't have any kids?
I haven't had little kids in the house in a very long time. My great-grandchildren live in another state, and I seldom get to see them.

"Ah, I see where the connection now! 'Big fish' usually means someone important or influential, but the mention of kids makes it sound like it's referring to a Disney character. I found a 'Nemo' the fish in the story searching for Nemo; however, 'Nemo' has other meanings too—there's Captain Nemo from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
