Near-Trump Assassination Product of ‘Malice or Massive Incompetence’ by U.S. Secret Service

From a former Navy Seal and Diplomatic Security Officer:

DJT was not saved by USSS brilliance. The fact that USSS allowed a rifle armed shooter within 150yds to a preplanned event is either malice or massive incompetence. Clearly there was adequate uncontrolled dead space for a shooter to move into position and take multiple aimed shots. Watching the newsreel one can hear how proximate the shooter is by the very short time lapse between the crack of arriving bullet (supersonic) to the boom of muzzle blast (sonic).

The law enforcement sniper (unclear if USSS) in newsreels was clearly overwhelmed as his face came off his rifle instead of doing his job to kill the shooter. Clearly they were watching the shooter but apparently have a no “first shot” policy. The only positive action was an apparent 488yd shot by one USSS sniper which despatched the assasin but after the assassin launched at least 5 rounds, wounding DJT and killing and severely others in the crowd.

In my old business of providing Diplomatic Security in two active war zones we were expected to execute the basics or we would be fired. Clearly USSS failed at the basics of a secure perimeter and once shots were fired their extraction was clumsy and left DJT highly exposed to follow on attacks. It looked like they had never drilled together because those responses should be effectively autonomic. Will there be accountability? That’s not the Washington way.

Unserious and unworthy people in positions of authority got us to this near disaster. Merit and execution must be the only deciding factors in hiring and leadership, not the social engineering priority of the day. Sadly nothing in Washington reflects that any longer. DJT is right to question the competence of those protecting him because yesterday they failed in almost every way. Nature abhors a vacuum and there are always other options.

Neither the secret service nor Biden chose the venue for Trump's rally..

Ten city governments from Arizona to Pennsylvania say the president’s political committee has stiffed them out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“Do we love law enforcement or what?” President Donald Trump asked a cheering crowd during his “Make America Great Again” political rally Oct. 12 in Lebanon, Ohio.

“Thank you, law enforcement!” the president later told officers, who he called “heroes.”

But when Lebanon City Hall sent Trump’s campaign a $16,191 invoice for police and other public safety costs associated with his event, Trump didn’t respond. Trump’s campaign likewise ignored Lebanon officials’ follow-up reminders to cover the sum — one rich enough to fund the entire police force for nearly two days in this modest city of 21,000, between Dayton and Cincinnati.

The bill remains unpaid.

Actually, no more open air rallies is the best solution.
Trump needs to have small rallies in-doors, like Biden.
You know what would really be nice? If we did something about the availability of firearms so we didn't have to calculate the risks of indoor verse outdoor events or suffer through the ceaseless finger waving over political rhetoric as if that's cause, along with video games and rock and roll of course. Maybe if we still had political rhetoric and outdoor events but no access to firearms things like this happening wouldn't be much of a concern? :dunno:

Just saying.

Trump doesn't pay his bills to rally sites. They chose the state fair location venue to save money.

Due to the Trump Campaign not submitting any payments for the initial debts of the presidential rally, a 21% late fee invoice has also been added. In total, the Trump Campaign owes the City of El Paso over $560,000.Nov 17, 2022

You know what. That's a better case for this being an inside job than anything MAGA has produced. Maybe this was a warning shot for the deadbeat Trump to pay his bills.

There is no way to prevent access to firearms.

The SS was ordered not to take the shot. Who gave that order?

I love that you Morons are shitting all over whatever political good will this bought you by going after the people responsible for standing in the way of bullets to protect your boy.
I dont think we were going to get any good will from libs like you anyway

So go ahead and pout

So it's not that we can't it's that many of you don't want to. That's a more honest argument.
Repealing the 2nd Amendment would never happen.
So better develop a plan-B, like locking up criminals that use firearms in the commission of a crime.

Well there it is, didn't take long. This is the burden of the people, to be able to tell mere incompetence from common corruption from actual treason, and what do the people have to help them with this task? The Congress that is doing this and the media. Good luck.

That unprotected roof 130 yds from Trump is a glaring miss by SS.
Its too obvious to be incompetence, which only leaves malice, someone wanted Trump dead.
LOTS of demofascists want Trump dead.

I'm not arguing about it's feasibility you Clown, I'm questioning your claim that we can't. We can and we could do it through the amendment process or a more liberal supreme court. The real argument is that you don't want to repeal the 2nd Amendment. It's funny to me that you provided gun owners make such pussy arguments. Maybe that's why you cling to your and bibles so hard. Fear.

A local police officer did not do enough to prevent the shooter from climbing onto the roof with a rifle. Whoever he is, he is primarily responsible for what happened afterward. Securing the perimeter of the Trump rally was the responsibility of local law enforcement. But you cannot expect a local cop in a sleepy town to be competent enough.

The attempt on Trump was due to two major things.
1. The Secret Service personnel blundered. Some even had no real idea what they were supposed to do. Maybe new to the job?
2. For years the almost constant demonization of Tump by the media, democratic politicians and celebrities.
Saying things like “He will end democracy, he is Hitler, I have thought of blowing up the WhiteHouse,He needs to be killed and his wife and son raped, He will put everyone in reeducation camps.”
Then Biden with his” we need to put Trump in the crosshairs.”
All that rhetoric constantly for years convinced one person he must be eliminated.
His second rate Secret Service personnel did not do a thorough job of vetting the site and the overwatch team did not properly handle the situation when it arose.

Clearly they were watching the shooter but apparently have a no “first shot” policy.

I'm sure that policy only applies to Donald Trump.

The current head of the Secret Service is a Bidenista and repeatedly denied the Trump campaign's requests for additional protection. She needs to be charged with treason and, if convicted, executed.

I'm saying it's a shame he missed but I'm generally an optimistic sort of guy who can find the silver lining in most situations. You folks shitting all over law enforcement or inventing cosplays about inside jobs is that lining and with you morons it's guaranteed to be extra thick.
Until we give Homeland Security a review closely akin to s rectal exam and positively clear them of collusion the possibility remains that it wasnt simple negligence that cost the firefighter his life
