Nato warns of all-out war with Russia in next 20 years.

Russia has called America's claims of weapons superiority. We can start with that.

Russia is a paper tiger? In what respect that we haven't heard of by now? There's no superiority of any of the big three, in the event of nuclear war. You don't seem to understand that limits have been mutually agreed upon for rules of engagement. That limits Russia, China, and the US.'

How about a discussion on that? I contend that there can be no winner.

I just might be true that Russia's conventional weapons are superior to America's?

I speculate, I won't be fighting your armchair war with you. It's foolish.
Ukraine is using 40 year old weaponry.

What part of that do you not understand?

It's equipment that is being replaced with new and technologically superior equipment....

And it is still better and superior than what RF has to use. Especially the Striker and Bradley's. The Abrams are a waste...too heavy and too big to be of much use. The artillery guns are OK.

40 year old equipment ready for retiring and Russia still has trouble getting decent equipment to the front lines. They have worn out so many barrels with their artillery fire rates that they are short on artillery pieces. They have had no fire controls. "Shoot all you have" is the standing orders.

Then comes the huge amount of corruption inside the RF military. From lack of medical care to tanks that should be serviceable being nothing but shells. Night vision scopes and goggles sold on the black market to American civilians. Nevermind winter clothing and heating shortages.

Russia is not dead or dying...but their ability to wage war has been severely hampered by equipment failures, supply failures, shell failures, and personnel failures. (Pay for the soldiers being withheld for the dumbest reasons By officers competing against other officers and opsec is a joke)

Even their Kinsal missiles (latest and best missile) has been a dud against patriot systems.

Russia has severe issues with R&D of new technologies for war machinery. They have relied on mass production over new and improved....and their mass produced machines have been junk due to corruption. (Wiring striped out of tanks and sold as recycled metal)

Nuclear weapons require a LOT of maintenance to be viable....and China has discovered that theirs are not viable for similar reasons as Russia has for equipment issues.

IF Russia was to solve their corruption problems overnight (never going to happen) they will need a minimum of 20 years to repair and replace what they have currently. And that's not doing the research needed to develop new and improved equipment.

Military equipment is extremely expensive stuff....and Russian treasuries are running low...possibly empty by March or May. (Soldiers cost money and so does replacement equipment that gets destroyed or shot) And Russia keeps losing boats that haul things like oil and equipment.

We got plenty....lower corruption and solid equipment.

That goes both ways. The Ukies have depleted thier breeding male stock against conscripts, and convicts. And mothballed cold War gear. If you think only one side is appraising the others capabilities... You don't understand warfare....

The results on the Ukraine's army speak louder than all that. That's as close as you're going to get me to your armchair war.

That's not to say that you're wrong about everything, and it doesn't say you're right either. It just proves that both sides are committed to limitations in hostilities that are meant to prevent nuclear war.

If Russia eliminates Kiev with a large nuclear strike, will America respond in kind against Russia?

No...never said anything about Ukrainian warcraft capabilities...that's NOT the subject of this thread. While Ukraine is relevant it's not the point of the thread.

Basically Ukraine has lifted Russia's skirt and made it naked for the whole world to see.

Ukraine has been outnumbered 5:1 this whole time. And Ukraine has been holding off the Bear.

Of course Russia should have made gains...especially using their soldiers as cannon fodder to use up Ukranians ammunition. But then they have gotten tighter and tighter on soldiers for their usual method of attacks. So they have had to stop.

Ukraine is not giving up any territory.

Any thoughts to the contrary are a mistake.

And if the USA had kept their promise under the Obama administration or the Trump administration this wouldn't be being discussed today.
For whatever reason Biden thought to actually keep the promise.

Russia/Ukraine conflict is more about American oppositional politics than it is about anything else

Civilians must prepare for all-out war with Russia in the next 20 years, a top Nato military official has warned.

While armed forces are primed for the outbreak of war, private citizens need to be ready for a conflict that would require wholesale change in their lives, Adml Rob Bauer said on Thursday.

Large numbers of civilians will need to be mobilised in case of the outbreak of war and governments should put in place systems to manage the process, Adml Bauer told reporters after a meeting of Nato defence chiefs in Brussels.

“We have to realise it’s not a given that we are in peace. And that’s why we [Nato forces] are preparing for a conflict with Russia.

“But the discussion is much wider. It is also the industrial base and also the people that have to understand they play a role.”

Adml Bauer, a Dutch naval officer who is chairman of Nato’s Military Committee, praised Sweden for asking all of its citizens to brace for war ahead of the country formally joining the alliance.

Stockholm’s move, announced earlier this month, has led to a surge in volunteers for the country’s civil defence organisation and a spike in sales of torches and battery-powered radios.
