I would be surprised if prices didnt climb into the 3%+ range annualized. I am seeing price increases everywhere for product inputs - but we are pretty far upstream from the consumer so not sure if its in front of them yet. If prices are falling I would be concerned about a recession but I have not noticed a big slowdown yet in our business.

The chained CPI has never been used as the official number. It can't be because the data needed aren't available fast enough.

I sort of agree. Many economists believe that the tariffs will increase inflation. But from history we see that the hoover tariffs made the depression worse. I think the inflationary cycle is over. We are now heading for a recession or slow growth.
