Two years running, we went to the same hotel in Gran Canaria, on both occasions there was guy on reception who worked for the hotel since a young lad. He was retiring. We couldn't find a retirement card, the Spanish do not celebrate retirement. He was puzzled that we got him a bottle of wine and a generic card, and we wrote happy retirement.
