Musk Sparks Energy On Capitol Hill

Federal campaign finance documents that were filed yesterday revealed that Elon Musk spent $250,000,000 on trump's campaign. The man certainly recognizes a business opportunity when he sees one.
Because as he and Vivek are deciding how best to reduce the nation's annual budget Elon's Space-X/Starlink companies are receiving in excess of $3B in defense contracts.
Nice work if you can get it.

So what if Space-X/Starlink are earning revenues from defense contracts? Is there any evidence that they're not providing the goods and services they've been contracted to supply for that money? It would be one thing if there were indications that Musk's companies were ripping off the taxpayers but as far as I know there is no such evidence.

IMHO the fact that Musk is already doing business with the Federal Government and has experience with the all the BS involved in doing it is an asset not a liability.

Not just "worthless shit", NIH researchers are eligible for up to $150K royalties per year on any drugs they work on developing that PRIVATE Pharma ends up selling (e.g. mRNA COVID vaccines). So essentially, they work for taxpayer funded salaries doing research on drugs that they later pass to private business who then pay them up to $150K per year in royalties for the rest of their lives. Taxpayers are paying NIH scientists to do research to develop drugs that private companies sell back to us and then they get a cut of it.

Good business if you can get it, huh?

This is one of the practices that RFK Jr. wants to put a stop to.

Yep, the royalties should be paid to the treasury, of course the same thing happens in colleges where the taxpayers fund research and the colleges get the royalties. We get screwed at every trun.

And he can do things NASA can only dream of, so what's your point?
