3 days now they have parked in front of my house and are trying to sell their church, all kids about 18 dressed like salesman, black slacks, white shirt and black tie.
nice kids brainwashed too, there are no accounts of any latter day saints, sainthood is a catholic thing and they call themselves elders
elder is short for elderly and they are 18.....lol

Maybe all religion is bullshit, but some religions are obvious, provable bullshit. It is difficult talking to these missionaries because they are nice people, highly motivated, and they think they are performing a public service.

Debunking their beliefs is like shooting fish in a barrel. (Not that I've ever done that). Joe Smith was a transparent, narcissistic fraud. DNA evidence disproves the entire Book of Mormon. There is zero archaeological evidence to support any of the 'History" recorded therein. The "Book of Abraham" has been proven to be total rubbish. Many of the most preposterous Mormon beliefs come from Brigham Young, and they don't disclose the weirdest of them to strangers. They believe that if they live a good life, they will BECOME GODS when they die, which they refer to as being "exalted."

I could go on.

Saint

The word saint is a translation of a Greek word also rendered “holy,” the fundamental idea being that of consecration or separation for a sacred purpose; but since what was set apart for God must be without blemish, the word came to mean “free from blemish,” whether physical or moral. In the New Testament the saints are all those who by baptism have entered into the Christian covenant (see Acts 9:13, 32, 41; Rom. 1:7; 1 Cor. 1:2; Philip. 1:1; 1 Pet. 1:14–15). See also Holiness.

Elder

The term elder is used in various ways in the Bible. In the Old Testament it often refers to the older men in a tribe, who were usually entrusted with governmental affairs (Gen. 50:7; Josh. 20:4; Ruth 4:2; Matt. 15:2). Their age and experience made their counsel valuable. Their position was not necessarily a priesthood calling.

There were also ordained elders in the Melchizedek Priesthood in Old Testament times (Ex. 24:9–11). In the New Testament, elders are mentioned as a priesthood office in the Church (James 5:14–15). Among the Nephites there were also ordained elders in the priesthood (Alma 4:7, 16; Moro. 3:1). In this dispensation, Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were the first elders to be ordained (D&C 20:2–3).

Elder is now the title given to all holders of the Melchizedek Priesthood. For example, male missionaries are addressed as elders. Also, an Apostle is an elder, and it is proper to speak of members of the Quorum of the Twelve or Quorums of the Seventy by this title (D&C 20:38; 1 Pet. 5:1). The duties of ordained elders in the Church today have been given in latter-day revelation (D&C 20:38–45; 42:44; 46:2; 107:12).

  • Moses wrote unto all the elders of Israel, Deut. 31:9.
  • Barnabas sent relief to the elders of the church, Acts 11:30.
  • Elders were ordained in every church, Acts 14:23 (Titus 1:5).
  • Call for the elders to pray over the sick, James 5:14.
  • Elders were ordained by the laying on of hands, Alma 6:1.
  • Elders are to bless children, D&C 20:70.
  • Elders are to conduct meetings by the Holy Spirit, D&C 46:2.
  • Elders are to give an account of their stewardship, D&C 72:5.
  • Elders are to preach the gospel to the nations, D&C 133:8.

I had neighbors that were mormons and they would help me anytime no questions asked, they were good people but also for their good deeds they get a check mark on the list to get into heaven so were they just being nice or self serving? And yes, no golden tabled was found in upstate NY in the middle of the woods and god gave him the knowledge to translate it to english

they dress like salesman too, I have not had them visit me or my area yet but it's another fringe one, you base your "religion" on a witness? who was it, is there historical proof at all or just somebody making shit up?

A great salesman can sell anything to gullible people, or just call it snake oil

Let me preface by saying I believe in God. I have a close relationship with God. That being said, I do not believe in ANY organized religion. Every one has contradictory, hypocritical points that are designed for the control of those who have been indoctrinated. More people have died in the name of organized religions than any other cause in spite of the sanctity of life being core to every religion. Just sayin'. I am in no way trying to influence anyone to my way of thinking. I am content with my beliefs.

And yet we continue. Seems like your message is not getting through.

l know you meant to attach your metrics including the standards by which you determine someone is what you claim.....but somehow they didn't make it.
DNA evidence disproves the entire Book of Mormon.

O.K. My side hurts from laughing, but please tell us how that one works ??

There is zero archaeological evidence to support any of the 'History" recorded therein.

Never heard the claim zero, but O.K. What would support the history that you say is claimed ?

The "Book of Abraham" has been proven to be total rubbish.

Not anywhere close to the truth.

Many of the most preposterous Mormon beliefs come from Brigham Young,
Such as.....

and they don't disclose the weirdest of them to strangers.
If you are talking about the temple, it would be great to know how you know they are "Weird" ?

They believe that if they live a good life, they will BECOME GODS when they die, which they refer to as being "exalted."
Genesis also alludes to being like the gods.

Hmmmm.........

What exactly does it mean to become a God ?

Certainly not part of our doctrine. I suggest you read Dallin H. Oaks article entitled "The Challenge to Become".
And yes, no golden tabled was found in upstate NY in the middle of the woods and god gave him the knowledge to translate it to english
You were there ?

Eight people say you are wrong..

We get JW. Last time they showed up and went to give me their little booklet I happen to have a pamphlet of the Rosary, but they wouldn't take it...lol
We get the JWs every once in awhile. There's always two of them dressed in white shirts and ties. I try to be nice to them, they usually give up in a couple in minutes.

I could go on.
Please do.

However, it does seem strange that you somehow see yourself as the final authority on a subject that deals with things like "the cosmos", ancient, and eternity.

If you are so informed, can you please tell us what happened in the Garden of Eden? How did Lucifer get in? Would God not know that he was there tempting our first parents? Why would he allow that?
Looking forward to your insights.

BTW: If you know who is wrong, you must know who is right.....right? Care to share?

Oh, and to be clear, you were there in 1820?

Oh, and to be clear, you were there in 1820?
neither were you, where is the proof? did they keep records or it just we say so and you should believe it?

you never found it funny how they can't drink coke yet own $$$$ worth of the stock? that is hypocritical
I had a mormon manager once, he would harass me for drinking coffee, he was reported but the upper boss was mormon
guess where my complaint went?.......garbage

former Mormon leader Stephen Burnett, said in 1838 that Martin Harris had told him that "the eight witnesses never saw [the plates] & hesitated to sign that instrument for that reason, but were persuaded to do it."

so they were threatened to lie to push a false narrative..........gotcha
