I agree with most of this post but the "point" of teaching the Holocaust is the point of teaching all history: to teach history. Not to instill ideology in students. That is NOT OUR JOB.

If you disagree with that then you would think that when I teach "Do, Lord" or "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" I am doing so not because African-American Spirituals are the bedrock of most American music but because I'm trying to instill some kind of ideology--and trust me, you do not like the ideology of those songs.
