More Obama Spy Scandal

This is petty intragovernmental sniping, not a scandal against the current administration.

No! No! NO!!!!! Didn't you get the memo? Everything, and I mean everything, bad that happens in the world is President Obama's fault. In fact, I would not be a bit surprised of issa establishes a commission to study President Obama's involvement in this situation. He was probably the one who gave the CIA orders. Rest assured, if anyone can find the smoking gun it will be issa.

Am I incorrect in saying that you are a supporter of the "enhanced interrogation" techniques used by the Bush administration?

Cause that's what the CIA was "spying" on Congress about - Feinstein et al have been putting together a very critical report on those "techniques", and the CIA wanted to know what information they had to cover their backs.

Can I assume you are a ******* moron without 2 brain cells to rub together? It doesnt matter what the CIA was investigating. What they did was a serious violation of the law. That's in addition to Brennen lying to Congress previously when he told them they weren't doing that.
Is there any measure you think is out of bounds for this administration, or are you OK with everything they do, as long as it hurts the GOP?

You think it's OK that the executive branch is spying on members of Congress? I suspect they would disagree heartily. I also suspect many federal laws were broken.

This is 3rd world junta stuff. It's right out of a Clancy novel. As a quasi military network the CIA works for the civilian government. Was it acting independently or were their orders from an unnamed source? They don't get to issue a vague apology when they illegally evesdrop on their own government. Were they prevent a coup? Organizing a coup? Something is terribly wrong when this stuff is revealed and the media should be outraged instead of asleep.

This post is a good example of why everyone should take the time to actually read the article, rather than just the headline.

If the CIA came forward and confessed before the investigation it would be something but they can't even cover their tracks when they spy on their own people. How effective can they be in the real world? There are no excuses. This is 3rd world politics at it's worst.

The CIA broke the law. But the Obama knee pad brigade will blithely excuse any excess as trivial. You wonder what would constitute a major scandal for them.

Democrats going back to JFK have used the CIA for political missions and the CIA ain't as smart as Hollywood tries to portray it. They get caught every time. JFK had the CIA recruit and train an illegal invasion army to take out Castro because his dippy A.G. brother was obsessed with Cuba. The army failed and the invasion failed and we ended up on Devcon #2 with the "missile crisis". The worst mistake Bush made was not replacing the Clinton hacks who were running the CIA and now they are running illegal wiretaps on members of the Senate when they couldn't find two Russian terrorists in Boston when Russia gave their street addresses.

The CIA was damaged almost irreperably by the CHurch Committee hearings in the 1970s. They rely much more on sigint than on humint because sigint is value neutral. It's also less accurate.
But there's a world of differnece betweeen using the CIA to unseat Allende or Castro, which are legitimate foreign policy aims, and using it to spy on US Congressmen.
