More government = more corporatism

[
If a corporation tried to impose itself on infrastructure, I would tell them to fuck themselves. Unless their practice was made legal by the same government whose existence I curse.

Anyways, you are getting way off topic. The privatization of roads has nothing to do with whether the free market creates more competition.

It is not way off topic We are talking about how government needs to be at very least big enough to run/regulate roads and other essential infrastructure, because free market here would likely lead to sub-optimal solution in delivering these essentials to the people.

Free market IS NOT same thing as more competition: monopolization, price fixing, externalizing costs and buying off competition are classic text-book strategies Corporations pursue if left entirely unchecked. Which is WHY we need anti-trust regulation, environmental protections and consumer/systemic interest considerations.

Race to the bottom line is usually aligned with public interest, but in many situations it's not.

There are regulations that make sense, there are regulations that are over-bearing and there are sectors that are under-regulated. Regulations need to be considered in particulars and not in this broad ideological huff and puffery where we pretend that there are simple cookie-cutter solutions to all complex problems in this world.
