Apparently there are 16 cops suspended with more to follow.

From the TPS, OPP, RCMP and various agencies across the nation, we have a major police state issue. We have a Charter of Rights which they have disregarded for too long and it has caught the notice of our allies in Europe and in the U.S
Racism, abuse of citizens, violations of our Charter. If they do not clean this up we will continue to lose our best citizens, our best talent, while their budgets continue to soar and they continue to get caught lying in court.

Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada called for calm and pledged that Montrealers would learn the truth about allegations of co-ordinated racist behaviour involving a police unit based in in Montréal-Nord.

"Any form of racial profiling, discrimination, or violence is unacceptable. Such actions have no place in Montreal, in any society, or in any of our institutions," Martinez Ferrada told reporters at a press conference Saturday morning convened in response to the allegations.

Sixteen police officers from Station 39 are under investigation for racist and hateful acts allegedly committed against Black and Arab people during police stops, Montreal police confirmed late Friday.

Addressing the residents of Montréal-Nord and those who have "felt watched, targeted, profiled," and those who have filed complaints without feeling heard, she said: "I hear you."

"The bond of trust between the public and those who are there to protect us has been weakened," she added.

"I urge everyone to remain calm and act responsibly. Montrealers deserve to know the whole truth about what happened."

Martinez Ferrada said that she would ask all the necessary questions to get to the bottom of this matter.

They are watched and profiled because they are the vast source of crime.

The racists and perennial Charter of Right violators are finally be outed.

Canadian police are operating closely with the CCP, do you think this is another concern I should have after decades of violations against me?

Hopefully these police agencies are reigned in.

Give power to anyone, and abuse will happen.

The best is that there are processes to catch the people doing it. Which is what seems to happen.

There is no accountability, therein lies the conundrum. I admit there appears to be a concerted effort of late to hold some police agencies unaccountable, perhaps PM Carney realises that these vile outfits have committed immense damage and he has directed provinces to do a better job of defending our Charter, I don't know.

In order for Canada to be considered a part of the EU (which he and others seem to promote, it will not succeed I suspect) we would need to greatly inpprove our human rights record (ironic as some countries in Europe seem to be headed in the wrong vicinity in regards to such issues) and privacy laws.

If we want to build synergy with the U.S, we would need to address the same, plus corruption and illegal activities in corporations, espeically U.S ones.

Canada can only survive if we have actual values to uphold. This requires genuine civil liberties and justice for violations of our Charter. We are legally all protected (in concept) regardless of who we loves who we worship, our political opinions etc. The problem is the Charter is only theory, it has never been upheld. From the RCMP on down they hate civil liberties and rights.

They are now using the courts in my divorce to ruin me for instance. Any angle that the province and the state can use, they will.

They know that America now knows. Not in specific details in some instances but I have advised them in general terms that from Japan to South America, I will reach out to governments and organisations. This includes Europe and Japan.

I focused heavily on the U.S and Japan because they both believe in true justice, not just empty text, and have citizens of character. This is what we have been lacking. Character. Not everyone will have it but a noble nation requires a healthy dose of such people.

These types of stories in Montreal point to some change perhaps and I know Canada is being judged from CSIS on down. These stories, as you suggest, are mechanisms to hold some accountable. Yet, some of us receive NO such justice and we have experienced far worse than just racism.

The Canadian police seems less corrupt than the US police.

"Seem" is the optimum word in such a assertion.

Just as Canada "seems" to be a nation of free citizens who do not face persecution and illegal/inhumane interf fence into their lives.

We have been great at optics, light on substance.

Well, you come on here and praise the US and attack Canada, and in other threads before you've been shown statistics that show that the US is worse than Canada, and yet you still come back. Not with stats, but with anecdotes. "Look, this happened in Canada, the US is so much better".

You have official Civil Rights Divisions, a State Department etc. We do not have similar functioning roles iin our government.

You have Pro Bono legal services. We have a phone number where they will tell you what you need to fill out in a legal case.

You guys have no appreciation! When the East Germans or Sioviets were telling you what was going on in their country, did the West tell them they needed proof?

What about the Uyghurs in China? Do you need government stats to support the claim that the are oppressing people there?

Get real will you. This is the entire issue with government and police state control. The most diabolical of actions are never even going to be recorded regardless.

You have Freedom of Information laws. Did you know in Ontario they eliminated officials from such laws? Amazing.

How's the "Civil Rights division" going in the US? James Comer coming out blaming minorities for election fraud, getting rid of DEI, pushing white people jobs???

You have a Bill of Rights. If it is violated you have recourse, it is that simple.

DEI is a violation of your Bill of Rights so of course there will be push back. What successful new invention of great product was ever developed by demanding a particular racial or religious make up of ones workforce?

You find the best talent and you hire them so you can profit. To provide quotas goes against your own laws. China loves it though I an sure.

And Canada also has courts with recourse.
