The Beatles were pretty boys who found a niche that made them rich and worked at it to be knighted by the Brit Monarchy. John Lennen's murder was tragic but his music had become redundant and tiresome. Hair bands were mostly visual and when you were forced to listen it was best to do so while stoned. Warren Zevon wasn't folk and he wasn't rock and he damned sure wasn't disco. He was an artist who didn't give a damn about making a buck off swooney eyed boys and girls. His stuff is almost hard to take but it is ....different.
