Once you get outside the downtown (Loop-area) and near-North-Side districts, and a handful of neighborhoods to the far north and northwest, and one or two in the south...

The City of Chicago is one gigantic $hithole, and the Austin neighborhood is a $hithole WITHIN a $hithole...

Really damned bad... and definitely a no-bull$hit environment.
