ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota state senator who was caught in a sting operation resigned under fire Thursday after he was charged with soliciting a minor for prostitution, stepping down before the Senate could vote on whether to expel him.

Republican Justin Eichorn, of Grand Rapids, submitted his resignation in an email to Gov. Tim Walz, according to Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson.

“Decisive action needed to take place, and we did not want this to cloud up the issues of the budget going forward, and the things that Minnesotans really need,” Johnson told reporters. “So we want to take care of this quickly and be done with this.”

What is it about Republicans and having something as disgusting as soliciting a child for sex. Matt Gaetz attempt at a cabinet member was shot down after House Ethics Committee released their on his own problems with under-age children. Maybe they think they are untouchable. This piece filth needs to be in jail.

HIs arrest has already been noted here but it's good to see he resigned. I wonder if his wife will let him off that easy.
