Militiamen, ranchers in showdown for soul of Burns

This is getting more dangerous, and eventually someone will be killed, and after that we are in unchartered waters.

This story brings to mind the Whiskey Rebellion, which was a challenge to federal authority to put a tax on whiskey.

Unlike Obama, President George Washington knew what to do. He put together a militia, and marched on the rebels. By the time they arrived, the rebels had dispersed.

Here's the thing. If the government backs down every time it is faced with armed men, then we no longer have a government.

Obama is in over his head. We are in grave danger so long as he remains President.

These guys are clowns, there's no question about that. But what is it that you think Obama should be doing?

They are aiming sniper rifles at federal agents who are trying to enforce the law.

Eventually, someone is going to be hurt. And if that person is militia, that will fuel the next round, just like Waco led to the Oklahoma bombing.

This is an area and people I well know. These clowns are already getting on the nerves of the folks there. They will be ran out, shunned, if things keep going as they are. If they get violent, they will pay, big time. The people there are not only all armed, they know how to use their guns.

Just north of there, the Neo-Nazis ran out of Idaho decided that they could establish a base, because the people there were considered quite conservative. They were rapidly disabused of that notion, as virtually the whole county had a meeting, and told them they were not only unwelcome, they were not going to be allowed to be there. They left with their tails between their legs.

Already, there have been some confrontations with the sheriff at Burns, and with some of the local people. A few of the crazies tried to push around some local senior citizens. That pretty much puts them outside the pale with most of the people there. A bit more of that, and the situation will be taken care of by the people there.
