Have you ever had a tune in your head that drives you crazy? Ever since Benghazi, Libya has been in the news I can’t shake the score for the 1943 movie SAHARA. That Bogart war movie was set in the Libyan desert.

I must have been 10 years old when I saw Sahara. Unlike my childhood friends I always enjoyed the background music. Forever after hearing Miklos Rozsa’s score for Sahara I could always spot his theme in every film he did, and he did many of the big budget blockbusters. At the risk of planting it in your head, too, here is a short version:
