MicroSoft has, wisely, quickly done what the British call a "climb down" after one of its' offspring turned sexist, racist and National Socialist (NAZI):

Microsoft Sorry For Chatbot's Racist Tweets

After a Twitter bot sympathised with Hitler and told feminists to burn in hell, the tech giant admits to a "critical oversight".

Ya gotta read the link to get the full hilarity of what God (Bill Gates & Co.) hath wrought!

While it comments on the state of 'AI' in general, it more clearly comments on the state of commentary of online discourse and how so many hide behind the wall of anonymity to put out vile energy.

It would be interesting to see how this turns out if released say into only the Japanese culture.

How did they not figure that would happen? What bubble are they living in?

Indeed. How utterly clueless of them.

But then, MSFT isn't exactly a hotbed of relevance and innovation. I hope they aren't working on an AI for self-driving cars.

My God. Your car would crash once a day and you'd have to reinstall the operating system to fix it. After you got rid of the viruses, worms, trojans and spyware.
