House Republicans in Michigan have revealed that their review of the state budget uncovered more than $5 billion in waste, fraud, and abuse, hidden through the creation of 4,277 “phantom jobs.”

These positions do not exist. However, they were used to justify line items that allowed Democrats to funnel money toward radical priorities rather than essential services.

Among the spending categories were taxpayer-funded gender surgeries for convicted criminals and millions in “arts and culture” grants for organizations that cannot even be identified.

Roads remain among the worst in the nation, insurance rates continue to weigh down families, and basic services show little improvement. Yet Democrats diverted billions toward programs that would not survive public scrutiny if debated honestly.

Republicans have presented a clear alternative. Their plan eliminates the fake jobs, strips out the fraudulent spending categories, and redirects those funds to priorities that ordinary citizens actually value.

The thing is, if Bondi indicts these people without an ironclad case and/or winds up with a dishonest jury and they get off, then we're stuck. Can't try them again because of constitutional prohibition against double jeopardy.

The fact is that a rogue government can do a tremendous amount of damage, but they have legal means to protect themselves and indicting and convicting them is extremely difficult.

We should not expect Bondi to correct the problems we create by the dishonest, self serving, corrupt people that are elected. We Patriots/MAGAs/Republicans/libertarians (little "L"/independents need to step up, get involved, make sure that good public servants are elected to govern us.

Until then demonizing Bondi because we got lazy or let the other guy do what we should be doing ourselves just isn't cool.

Crime needs to be punished, period, full stop.

Again an attempt to punish them that fails is counterproductive. When they are acquitted, they are then immune from prosecution for their crimes forever. Getting a conviction of these people for these kinds of crimes is extremely difficult. Bondi is wise to not indict somebody when she knows very well an iron clad case is not there.
