The only news I can find is that visitors are being discouraged from climbing as heavy rains and snows are expected.

I didn't see anything there or anywhere saying Mt. Rainier was rumbling. And if it was, I think "An eruption is in progress" would be sufficient discouragement to climbers. If it wasn't, Darwin would win some.
