We've already be treated to the news that female Olympic athletes are required to wear bikinis when competing in the same sport that men are allowed to play wearing tank tops and shorts. Female soldiers in some wacko European country are being required to march in heels. Softball players being required in modern history to wear skirts. Some morons still run around insisting that women can't wear pants. And so much more

This kind of shit keeps coming, as it has for centuries. Not all men are stupid, but it seems like a sizeable number are, and women have been really patient with them up until now.

What's your point? These ancient cultures had some strange customs. There can be no reason for a person to be "unclean" simply due to their natural bodily functions, or based on the sex of the child they give birth to (bearing in mind that it is the father who determines the sex of the child).

BTW: some Christians and Jews seem to be quite fascinated with Leviticus, or rather parts of it, without reading the whole thing. It's quite an interesting rundown of the customs and laws of ancient Middle Eastern tribes.

You miss the importance of looking at this issue from other peoples' perspectives. I'm a heterosexual woman, so I really don't care about seeing a woman in a state of undress. I've never been excited about it. I guess I'd feel differently if I were lesbian. The male of the species, as a whole, cannot be considered "ugly" if one is a straight woman or a gay man. I've seen several who were downright gorgeous.

Of course, there are aesthetic considerations involved in looking at any one particular individual, many derived from local culture. In western societies, being thin and muscular appears to be the standard of beauty in both sexes, while other societies prefer the more well-padded folks. Who knows how this all operates?

What's your point. I stay away from primitive customs, even the ones "Christians" advertise. I've seen some weird tripe coming from the evangelical and Catholic crowds, both of whom have a history of misogyny.

I don't agree with you at all on abortion. It must remain legal and safe. As you probably know, I want to see all people educated in methods to avoid unwanted pregnancy and have them readily available so that each individual can make a fully-informed personal choice.

BTW: most of the "pro-life" crowd are not actually "pro-life." They are neck-deep in guns, rejecting the poor, the hungry, the homeless and refugees, living lives that they themselves refer to as sexually immoral, trying to keep people from being educated..They are just interested in perpetuating a con in order to subjugate women and force them into an S&M lifestyle.
