Memories of Scotland

I have once lived in Scotland for a year and have visited Scotland before and after that year several times.
Who else has visited Scotland and/or lived there - and has fine memories to share?

Been there once, to Edinburgh. Then, as we left to go back to Newcastle, our GPS battery died, and we ended up near Glasscow.

Btw: I also have memories of Newcastle upon Tyne.

One of my employers told me the best steaks he ever had in his world travels were in Scotland and the natural landscape was the best.

My son and his wife went to Scotland 2 years ago, and then took a trek and 2 nights in Britain.
He said the Scottish people were very friendly and open to them, they drove through several towns, made a stop in some town at a local pub, people knew they were tourist and bought them a pint.
Britain was a different experience. People there were less friendly and stand offish.
