“Under the November 20, 2014, policy memorandum, foreign nationals who receive deferred action status may be eligible for work authorization,” the CRS memo states. “As a result, a foreign national who receives deferred action status may be able to have all of his or her Social Security-covered earnings count toward qualifying for a Social Security benefit (all earnings from authorized and unauthorized work).”

They don't check residency status when you request a TIN. And you can use the TIN to pay taxes.

The proposal only grants illegals credit for the years they've paid into social security. For those years they haven't, they don't get credit.

You and others are ignoring the fact that many of the illegal aliens have committed other crimes and they aren't being held responsible. A lot of them stole identities of citizens. And many worked for money under the table and never paid taxes on it while collecting welfare at the same time. There have been many cases of them taking advantage of the child tax credit and getting money for children that don't exist or aren't even living in the states. Offering more perks isn't the answer. I think forfeiting that money as a fine for breaking our laws would be fair.

Quit bitching about Republicans actually giving a shit that a hostile country is developing nukes. I don't recall outrage when Ted Kennedy spoke with Russians years back. Or that Pelosi went to Syria to talk back in 2007 without any permission. That was especially bad because she was acting as if she had the power to make deals. Save your criticism over a simple letter when Dems have felt they can take charge when they disagree with the president.

I don't know what poll you are citing regarding people wanting illegal aliens to have citizenship.
