On May 31, 1921, Dick Rowland, a 19-year old Black shoeshiner, tripped and fell in an elevator and his hand accidentally caught the shoulder of Sarah Page, a white 17-year-old operator. Page screamed and Rowland was seen running away.

They were interviewing a young woman in Tulsa who knows that one of her great grandparents took part in the massacre. She made a good point that dealing with the Massacre is something that white people need to work thru. They committed the massacre, not the black people. It's the white people of Tulsa who need to stop running away from history.

That this story was buried for so long mean't that no one could learn from it. It's important that humanity learns of and recognizes the atrocities that people can inflict on their fellow humans and the suffering of the victims to ensure that they are never repeated.
