I don't think too many of the parents in my parish tell their children about Santa Claus. I think they do tell them about Saint Nicholas, and we will have St. Nicholas Day, where the young ones will get surprises in their shoes.

A few weeks ago, we had an inch or two of snow, and the sweet little three year old who sits in the pew in front of me was wondering if Santa had brought her a present.

Her great grandparents who sit next to me are quite devout.
