I can tell you this, if you are in a state with a carry license going to another state where you have a carry license, you don't want to drive through 5 miles of Maryland to get there if you don't have a carry license there as well (and good luck getting one).

Because even if you have a CCA for the state one mile back and a CCA for the state one mile ahead, if Maryland catches you in their state with a gun but no CCA for their state, they will treat you like the biggest criminal since Pol Pot.

The leftist politician's stance on why they don't side with the victims is probably, "if you wouldn't own a car and just accepted riding buses and trains, you wouldn't be a victim of car theft, so it's your fault."

In 2002, I was vacationing in DC, VA, MA, PA and NY when the mass murders started in by John Muhammad Allen and Lee Boyd Malvo. In VA it was terrifying to be there. I was driving back from PA when the word was out, both were captured. Very close to my path going to VA. Crime did not pay for the non shooter who was executed but the actual killer is still in prison.

Lee Boyd Malvo's original sentence was multiple life sentences without the possibility of parole, both in Virginia and Maryland. However, his Maryland sentences have been subject to resentencing hearings due to changes in legal interpretations regarding juvenile offenders and life without parole.
