This was promoted heavily by the CCP and their white monkeys as a grand engineering wonder. I admire and applaud their efforts to try and push the boundaries but this can't build confidence domestically or globally in their structure designs. The important news is that no one was hurt. Major Chinese bridge collapses into river just months after opening to traffic.
A massive bridge at a hydropower station in southwest China collapsed Tuesday, sending concrete and steel plunging into a river just months after it opened, according to Chinese state media.

Reuters reported that an official from Barkam County confirmed the collapse to the Chinese state-run Global Times, saying no casualties had been reported.

The report added that cracks were detected a day earlier on the bridge’s road surface and slope, prompting authorities to impose temporary traffic controls.

Footage of the collapse, shared widely on Chinese social media, showed the Hongqi Bridge in Sichuan Province buckling before falling into the river below, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

Flawed design for a treacherous area and perhaps a healthy dose of corrruption. The Chinese official will tell everone that every thing is fine with the bridge while presumably an geoengineer will speak honestly. I presume because they closed the bridge the day prior as they probably measured motion or cracks. This astute closing may have saved lives.

China quality.

The problem is everything is done on the cheap. Apartment buildings are falling apart before they even open for residents.

There are two words in Chinese, tangping and another one I forgot, that basically mean "I don't care, I've given up", you go to work, do the minimal possible to keep your job.

It's endemic in China.

It's China. You can bet someone will either be executed or mysteriously disappear because of this.

I think the other word you're looking for is "poontang."

We need to decouple from these commies. You can't trust them. They're all about money and power, much like our Democrats. I sure as hell hope they're more careful with their nuclear power plants.

Oh, the Republicans aren't all about money and power? Isn't that literally the Republican Party's motto?

so is your party.....

Republicans are definitely about money and power. They just won't go to the same extremes as Democrats to achieve their goals.

Right.... they are just nice cuddly people who wouldn't hurt a fly.

just think if this thing collapses....

I would be so conflicted if I was considering living there. I wouldn't want to be on the bottom and have all that mass above me, but if a fire breaks out near the middle or higher, how many flights of stairs are you going to have to run down in order to get to safety? Or what if the fire is between you and the ground?

i dont like even being in buildings like that....one good earthquake in the area of that building and it may come down....

I remember very long ago being on a winding mountain road in that area when a landslide took out the road just in front of the bus and left us stuck on the other side for hours.

Now I'm not condoning such a response but do you ever notice that everyone yells and screams, politicians and media alike about "tough on crime" except for bribery of government money or corruption.

I might argue that crimes against the state such as in bribery and corruption cases are worse to a nation than a single murder. Millions could die as a result of corruption. Yet, no one is screaming for tougher sentences.

I believe in redemption for most but sometimes people cross into evil for greed.
