The US was supporting, paying for, and causing 2 expensive wars. The Ukraine and Palestine.
The Ukraine was wrong because Russia has the right to expect the Ukraine to not join any alliance hostile to Russia, to honor its treaties over Sevastopol, and not murder ethnic Russia citizens of the Ukraine.
Israel is wrong and has been since Menachim Begin blew up the British peacekeepers in the King David Hotel, it violated the UN partition in 1967.
The economic sanctions on Russia also are illegal.

Joe's actions reminds me the character in a movie I recently saw starring Ellen Merrin and the late Donald Sutherland named "The Leisure Seeker" a poignant and affectionate film about that aging, ailing couple as they take one last trip.
