In a Republic, actually
ā€˜A Republican senator is proposing a plan to slash the workforce of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, while signs of friction have emerged between President Trump and his intelligence director, Tulsi Gabbard.

The legislation proposed by Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas could diminish Gabbard’s role within the intelligence bureaucracy, according to NBC News. The ODNI reduction plan comes after Gabbard is reported to have angered Trump during his attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities in Iran.

Cotton’s bill, the Intelligence Community Efficiency and Effectiveness Act, proposes to slash ODNI’s workforce by 60 percent, from roughly 1,600 to a cap of 650 employees. ODNI, set up in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, oversees all 18 intelligence services in the United States.

The bill would also eliminate the Foreign Malign Influence Center—the hub tracking Russian and other foreign interference in the U.S. It would also shift a counterterrorism center to the FBI and hand a biosecurity and proliferation center to the CIA, according to NBC News. Under the legislation, ODNI would also be stripped of its specialized ā€œcentersā€ altogether, including a climate security advisory council.’

Republicans are as unfit to govern as Trump

Don’t anger the dictator – you’ll face retribution.

And hobble the intelligence community in the process, jeopardizing the security of the American people, promoting lies and disinformation over facts and the truth.

The comments the media continuously quoted Tulsi on were from her Senate hearing in March, not recent comments by her. Media are playing Trump to a T as like Hegseth, they dont want her in that position. Furthermore, it is the job of DNI to provide factual intel as their agents and agencies have collected, not just what any presiddnt wants to hear (or which conflicts with say, what a media personality who has lunch with him thinks of another country). The old Establisment Warhawks dont like Tulsi, Trunp takes intel and makes decisions, he can't be a sucker and fall for the efforts of those who want to drive him towards war regardless. They didnt like Hegseth because he declared China the key threat to America and wants to innovate the U.S military with smarter, cheaper, futuristic options such as drones. If America just continues to buy big ticket hardware, they will pay a steep price in a war with even a.minor.power. Ukraine has proven this with major attacks on Russian fleets, often with very cheap drones. I can tell you this much, if I work in Canandian military procurement.I am.funding A.I and drone technology. This is the new age alternative to nukes.

Progressives act in lockstep. We see the crazies all over the nation constantly. They are in all levels of government. Listen to their politicians in D.C. alone. Congressional hearings are almost incoherent. It is all attack and smear.

while signs of friction have emerged between President Trump and his intelligence director, Tulsi Gabbard.
This was a made up CNN story... there is nor was any friction between them...

The rule of any job is to make yourself valuable. Tulsi isn't doing that. When working for Trump, it is not enough to simply agree with him, you need to contribute. Hegseth is learning that, but it seems like Tulsi is just nodding and going through the motions. But some good could still come out of this if we realize we don't even need this department.
