Why are those with a high school education called low education voters?

Because they have just enough education to not be fooled by the lawyers and assorted shysters on both sides.

It really pisses them off no end when, over the course of time, we do well for ourselves without their "help".

Truth be told unless they are liberal art majors they don't want much to do with the real college educated either.

Who calls them that?

It might be worth mentioning that for generations who went to HS before, say, 1960, a HS diploma was an accomplishment to be proud of. In 1930, only 25% of the population graduated from HS. My own father was thrown into the workforce at age 15 due to financial necessity, and went to night school for years to get his diploma, and was damn proud of it.

When we Boomers graduated from HS, many of us were a little confused at how much more our parents appreciated that diploma that we did. They didn't realize that for most of us, it was nothing more than an attendance certificate, signifying nothing more than that the public school system wanted us out of it.

As for voter education, I feel very strongly that every American who is applying for his first voter ID card should be required to pass the same basic Civics test that immigrants are required to pass, IN ENGLISH, in order to be naturalized. I don't give a shit whether they went to school or not, but they should understand how our government was intended to work.

Better to realize how it actually works: You have little or no representation. Your vote is worthless; the government is going to do whatever it damn pleases regardless of what the public wants.

Every leftist poll conducted that mentions "college educated voters" as something to be held up over the heads of those without a college education.

Jeez.....What fuckin' rock have you been hiding under?
True. My thread is based on a poll that showed that "low education voter" support for Trump has risen lately.
I think they are talking about low information voters.

You know, MAGAts.
The article, which I cannot find, said "low education" voters, citing only a high school education. Of course, they mean low information voters but that's hardly accurate. All the information anyone needs is out there. Being "informed" doesn't require a college degree.

That is a literacy test and illegal under the Voting Rights Act. That used to be a Jim Crow law.

I thought you claimed to be a lawyer.

And look at how people howl over test scores and comparisons between American students and those students from countries where kids are still shown the door after middle school if they are not in the top 1% of their country's students. We try damn hard to educate EVERYONE of school age, as it should be.

Yeah, 'cause that worked out so well the last time it was tried. Don't let your emotions make you stupid.

What countries toss 99 percent of their students out?

Nope. That is not acceptable. If one is a citizen, that right there is enough to cast a vote.

A slight exaggeration, but in many countries if you tank just one very high stakes test, you are diverted to apprenticeship programs, trades, or just out into the work force. If they or their families really want them to go to college, they are left with what would be the equivalent of a community college here. However, unlike here where in many states community colleges are tax-payer funded (what liberals like to call "free"), in these countries the equivalent are among the most expensive schools in said country. But we compare the top of the top in these countries with EVERY student in the US. No problem; Americans can compete with anyone, but let's be honest about it.

High Education Voters study issues, Low education Voters live the issues every day. So, the lower educated have more insight and should be listened to and have an effective voice through voting and other venues.

democrats are like the guy who needed 8 years to get his BA, then struts around calling people who chose not to go to college "stupid." People like Dr. Phosphorous.

"Low education" voters is a political construct by Democrats to forestall any discussion of voter intelligence, of which they are provably deficient. Simply take their demographic composition and apply it to mean IQ scores to assess this factor.
