lorry or truck, lift or elevator ... which terms do you prefer?

Tractor. Boss handed me a 2025 KW with only 1400 miles on it.
Probably my last one as I only have 2-3:yrs left til retirement.
 
In a building I say elevator, but referring to the device that a quadriplegic uncle of mine used to get in and out of his van in his wheelchair, or the device you would use to lower a new refrigerator to the ground from a lorry/truck...that would be a lift.

And believe it or not, I sometimes refer to my cell phone as my "Handi"....because my German relatives have had some influence on me! 😄

I don't recall any of them saying "lorry" though.
 
Many women are named Laurie. Very few people are named Truck. As Americans, we may eventually settle on something shorter than elevator, so lift would work.
