You borrow money so you can live in a home you call your own.
You go to college to better yourself.
You spend money on health for yourself.
Who in hell made it a demand on citizens who get no benefits to pay for your home, your college or your health?

These students are too young to know it was Obama who destroyed student loans... when you turn anything over to the feds the prices gets beyond reasonable...
Everyone warned him but he did it anyway... and no district court tried to stop him....

These fools never learned a simple concept. If you borrow you pay it back. Another simple concept is never make a decision that does not have a good out come.
If you know there are no high paying jobs for old Medieval English scholars then maybe do not get a degree in that field

That's why I'm not too keen on the idea of federal loans for trade schools. Banks should be making those as the student has a better chance of paying the loan back and it helps keep tuition lower.

It's true that credit and loans are an important part of Capitalism. But for individuals, being debt free and financially independent is a great result of Capitalism.

The only Debt realistic to carry long term as an adult is a mortgage and maybe a car payment.

I fell into the credit card balance trap for 15 years. happy I am out of it now.

Yes I agree. Every adult is expected to have a mortgage and possibly car payment, maybe.

I lived like a pauper for so long, saving and saving and saving. By the time I was 31 I was able to buy a brand new fully loaded car with a check, bought a house, and owned another vehicle and a motorcycle and a boat. It took me 7 years to pay off my mortgage. I wrote it off with a check for $46,000 23 years early. Even at only 4.75% interest, I saved over $100,000 in interest paying it off early.

So by the time I was 38, I outright owned 4 cars, 2 motorcycles, 2 boats, a 4 wheeler and a house.
