Of course this is subjective, but these are seasons where non-absolutely-all-time-great or often-mentioned players have great seasons...

1984-85 Bernard King (NYK): 32.9-10-5.8
1993-94 David Robinson (SAS): 29.8-10.7-4.8 (League Scoring Leader)
1987-88 Dominique Wilkins (ATL): 30.7-6.4-2.9
1982-83 Alex English (DEN): 28.4-7.3-4.8 (League scoring leader)
1999-00 Grant Hill (DET): 25.8-6.6-5.2
1991-92 Tim Hardaway (GSW): 23.4-3.8-10
1996-97 Mitch Richmond (SAC): 25.9-3.9-4.2
1991-92 Larry Johnson (CHLT): 22.1-10.5-4.3
2001-02 Jason Kidd (PHX): 16.9-6.8-10.8

David Robinson and Duncan were too nice and disciplined so they didnt get the coverage left for the bad boys in the NBA. Played in Texas too which made the NE and West coast media care less. Perhaps the two most quiet, dominant workmen in the sport and on the same team. Fascinating really.

I have noticed that there are only certain names that get the momentum to be mentioned to future generations, while others who might be just as good (but not as good with public relations), or other reasons... are left behind and not mentioned as much as they should. If I had to list some players in the category from era, it would include:

David Robinson
Dominique Wilkins
Tim Hardaway
Gary Payton
Bernard King
Mark Price
Mitch Richmond
Alonzo Mourning
Jason Kidd
Sidney Moncrief
Alex English
Moses Malone (he really doesn't get mentioned much)


And Players that are underrated in history because of injury:
Larry Johnson
Penny Hardaway
Grant Hill
Brandon Roy
