Libs in Oregon propose outlawing hunting and fishing

Yeah, I posted of it a week ago....Hopefully it does not come to pass.

Wont ever happen. Perhaps, private landowners like me have certain rules anyone hunting our land must follow. Bucks must be at least 8 points and the same person can only harvest 1 deer every 2 years. No semi auto or pumps, only bolt or single shot. No modern day looking rifles. If you wound and dont recover the deer youre out for another year.

Maybe just outlaw hunting and fishing within Portland city limits.
That might work for them. Well, 'cept for the inner city gangs with
the huntin' and all. :smoke:

Ordinarily I would not take this seriously

But where libs are involved you never know

That's right, bub. Dems always tell you their plans. With dems it is; dems say...dems do.

Here is the deal...

If dems can outlaw hunting and fishing, you can't use the excuse of owning guns for hunting or fishing within that state. The 2A is not a right...it is an opinion. If it was not an opinion, SCOTUS would have no effect on it.

Suggest one reads the "fine print". Any killing of animals will be considered as harmful abuse. Includes farming and ranching. So no local grown poultry, beef, pork, fish, etc.

Will put a lot of food growers in that state out of business.

All meat of any sort will have to come in from out of state sources. Might even become a black market item.

Personally, I think all the libs need to be recycled into soylent green.

A proposed Oregon ballot initiative that would criminalize hunting, fishing, animal husbandry and livestock slaughter has reached 90% of the signatures required to get on the ballot as of Tuesday.

Petitioners have until July 2 to gather 12,000 more to qualify for the November ballot.

If approved, the People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions (PEACE) Act would criminalize pest control, commercially grown poultry, the use of animals in rodeos, training techniques, wildlife management practices, scientific research that involves animals and more.

In 2022, animal agriculture contributed $4.4 billion to Oregon’s economic output and employed more than 30,000 people.

When asked about the effect the initiative would have on farmers if passed, PEACE Act chief petitioner David Michelson told ABC2, “There are so many different alternatives. Thirty percent of Oregon agricultural sales are animal related, 70% are crops. We can have 100% of those be crops if we wanted to.”

Sounds like we ought to outlaw tourism to Oregon.
Sort of hard to drive up and down West Coast without going through Oregon.
Plus wife and I have a few siblings that live there. And Madras has an annual airshow I like to attend.

Illegal Immigration is illegal yet Oregon goes the other way. Every hunter and fisher ought to hope and push for Oregon to outlaw the two sports. Who or what is going to enforce it?
