I love to tell this story. From 2002 to 2008, I worked for a company that distributed packaging supplies. We hired some contractors to do cleanup and packing around the warehouse. They were illegals, we knew they were undocumented, but since the temp company vouched for them, no one cared. The boss had plausible deniability.

ANYWAY, the company eventually got bought out by a bigger company, and one of their first edicts was that, contractor or not, you needed documentation. Well, we got rid of the Mexicans, and they found some white people, nearly all of whom looked like they had some substance abuse issues. We are talking some scary-ass meth-heads. Had to walk the girls in the office out to their cars after work because they didn't feel safe. And when they got paid, they didn't show up the next day because they were on a bender

Wait now, so I as a business owner shouldn't hire people who work harder for less money as a matter of principle? That sounds... pretty "socialist" to me. Naw, Americans break laws they don't like all the time. They cheat on their taxes, pay money to sex workers, speed in zones where they know the cops aren't hanging about, smoke a little weed on the weekend to relax even if their state hasn't legalized it.

Going back to my original story about the Temp Agency that has you sooooo upset. Do you think the staffing agency WANTED to send Meth-heads? Nope. They are more trouble than they are worth.
