There is a reasonable threshold for how far we can trace it back, because if we go far enough, the most distal, most ultimate cause is "because the universe was created". So, a degree of reasonable-ness is needed.

I would say that tracing it one step back to the level of the government letting in this drunk Mexican is reasonable. For one thing, illegals are never meant to be in the country in the first place. Secondly, whether we like to admit or not, third-worlders simply tend to be less law-abiding than white people. So, the lefties let in this law-breaking illegal, who predictably violated traffic regulations, resulting in the deaths of Americans. I think it's reasonable to hold the lefties to be partially responsible.

If I ask me personally, no, I am not looking to prosecute anyone, because to me that is pointless. I do, however, want to collectively punish the entire Left, and I want to do more and worse things to them.
