The emotion which fuels liberalism in it modern incarnation (I'm not talking about Classical Liberals, let's not go there) is envy. Liberals are consumed with envy, having been mostly ineffective nerds as children. To deal with this, they work very hard on tearing down others, equating success with evil (think the environmental movement), going off on screeds about hubris, and selfishness, and greed. Since they cast the efforts and successes of others as evil, freedom itself becomes an enemy to them since free people seek to accomplish the evil agenda of life. They are bitter freedom-hating bitter ideologues, every last one of them, especially ne.
