Why is it ok for Obama and Reid to refuse to vote on bills that have passed the House and refuse to sit down and discuss a compromise with the Republicans...
Yet it's not OK for Boehner to hold the same strick line?
Well....Obama doesn't refuse votes on anything. His branch of government doesn't vote on bills.
The rules of the Senate say that Reid can refuse to bring votes to the floor. The rules of the House say that Boehner can do the same. In that sense, it is OK for both to do what they are doing.
The bullshit part of your question has to do with the "refuse to sit down and discuss a compromise with the Republicans".
You see....Reid has offered to compromise over and over again. In fact, the apprpriations bill that passed the Senate was a compromise.
The President has compromised over and over again. The reason that you don't know this.....or refuse to believe it....is that you are living in the nutter bubble. Take a stroll outside the bubble for a while. The PPACA is itself an example of compromise.
What Boehner is doing.....is not negotiating nor compromising. He is taking something that is IN EVERYONE'S INTEREST and threatening to tank it. You see...compromise is giving in on something that is in YOUR INTEREST so that you can get something else. But paying our bills is not that. It is in EVERYONE'S INTEREST.
That is what is at issue here. Refusing to raise the debt ceiling is not something that harms only the Democrats. It is ******* stupid to use it in this way.
If you were honest, you would be banging on Boehner for being so stupid and risking the health of OUR economy in order to cave in to some idiots in his party.
This shutdown....and the possible default....IS THE END GAME for some in your party. The "bargaining" is therefore not in good faith.
