He said several times that he would not accept any deal between the U.S. and Russia concerning Ukraine. A reasonable position, so long as his ego doesn't prevent him accepting an otherwise acceptable deal.

Then he said that he would except a bi-lateral deal if it included Russia pulling out of Ukraine entirely, full NATO membership for Ukraine and Putin in jail. Unrealistic, but fine as an opening in negotiations.

This is what the left in the U.S. doesn't get or pretends not to get. They believe that those three demands are non-negotiable and that we should simply __________________ until those conditions are met. I'm not sure what goes in the blank. Maybe a Democrat will help with that. What should we do until Putin pulls out of Ukraine, NATO allows Ukraine to join, and Putin reports to whatever jail Zelensky envisions for him?

I've watched about two-thirds and I haven't seen her ask him about elections yet. I doubt she will.

I hope for the sake of Ukraine, that this absolutist stance is his opening in negotiations. If not, what would be the benefit of having him sit in on negotiations? His position fits on a three-by-five card.

I count six European nations that border Ukraine, which means their troops could march in and join the fight. Their tanks could face Russian armor in a matter of hours.

For the other European allies, they could get troops to Ukrain by truck or train, or mounted, and fly sortees over Ukraine with no need to refuel.

If they are not acting, why would we?

Going to war eight years after you allow an invader to unilaterally annex a large portion of your country hardly seems to make much sense. The time for all this saber rattling garbage by Ukraine about Russian invasion seems like it is a bit late. The solution, IMHO, is Russia keeps Donbass and Crimea and Zelensky licks his wounds and shuts up. Personally, IDGAF what they do. I don't want anymore US taxpayer $$$$ going to support either side.

Problem is, Zelensky has no bargaining chips and that shit ain't never gonna happen. Zelensky will take what he can get.

His alternative: Keep fighting Russia on his own without US help and get destroyed.

His options: Take a beating, take a bath, or take a trip to his own grave.
