Newly obtained internal FBI chat logs are sending waves through Washington, as they reveal the bureau actively suppressed information about the Hunter Biden laptop story on the very day the New York Post broke the bombshell report in October 2020.


The House Judiciary Committee released the documents Tuesday, exposing what appears to be a coordinated effort by senior FBI officials to stifle discussion of the laptop’s contents — even as one FBI analyst tried to confirm its authenticity to Twitter.


“Please do not discuss Biden matter,” reads one message from October 14, 2020, in an FBI internal chat log now made public. That same day, the FBI had the laptop in its possession and knew it was real — yet told social media companies otherwise, allowing Big Tech to censor the story as so-called Russian disinformation.


In testimony to Congress, Laura Dehmlow, then the China unit chief of the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force, recalled that “somebody from Twitter essentially asked whether the laptop was real. And one of the FBI folks… did confirm that, yes, it was — before another participant jumped in and said no further comment.”

According to the chat logs, the FBI analyst was later admonished and reportedly told to “shut up” despite simply telling the truth. A senior FBI lawyer then issued what’s being described as a “gag order” on the analyst to prevent further confirmation.

“NOPE… just a domestic hit job, yay,” one message read sarcastically on the day the Post story broke. Another official asked, “You guys are tracking the coverage of the laptop right?” to which one response was: “Tried to thread a smallll needle there.”

In an exchange involving the FBI’s Office of General Counsel, one message flatly states: “Nobody on call is authorized to comment.” That directive was later reinforced by internal messages reading, “Please do not discuss Biden matter” and “We cannot comment.”

Also, the FBI did not have a copy of what the Post was claiming to be the lap top full contents, so even if they could under protocol release information for an on going case, they could not do so without the Post's full copy of the hard drive they used, to verify it.

This is a nothing burger imo.

Anew report released on Tuesday shows the FBI imposed a “gag” order in relation to the Hunter Biden laptop to conceal the truth about its authenticity from voters ahead of the 2020 election.
Internal FBI chat messages obtained by investigative journalists Catherine Herridge and Michael Shellenberger show that “senior bureau officials actively [shut] down discussion of the laptop’s credibility days before the 2020 presidential election.” According to the report, an FBI official told House investigators that an FBI employee “inadvertently” confirmed the laptop’s authenticity during a conference call on the same day the New York Post published its bombshell story that implicated Joe Biden in his family’s foreign business dealings.

The Federalist’s John Daniel Davidson wrote, the “FBI arranged for top Twitter officials to get special security clearances so the agency could share intelligence about possible foreign threats to the upcoming presidential election.”

Amid the volley of “now the truth can be told”-style stories coming out about the last days of President Joe Biden’s administration in the run-up to the 2024 election — and those are bad enough — we’re now getting them about the run-up to the 2020 election, too.
In fairness, we probably should have seen this coming; the Biden administration spent four years protecting the swamp at all costs and invoking the specter of the worst day in the history of all of humanity — Jan. 6, 2021, obvs — to ward off anyone who shined a light into the D.C. bog.
But now, thanks to a report from Catherine Herridge and Michael Shellenberger, two prominent independent journalists, we can see inside the FBI’s response to Hunter Biden’s laptop in regards to social media — and, surprise, surprise, it’s every bit as bad as we thought it would be.

While this isn’t entirely a surprise — the Post reported in 2023 that Twitter was informed on the day of the Post’s report that the laptop is real — this is the first time that we’ve seen definitive evidence that this was someone who blurted out the truth on a call before the FBI brass actively told them to lie.
Furthermore, they told everyone else to keep lying, as well, and their social media ambassador basically said that he wasn’t going to say anything even though the contents of the laptop were in the public domain.
Of course, at that point, the narrative was that the contents were a fakery; the Biden camp essentially suborned dozens of intelligence officials to sign a letter to that effect without anyone correcting it. To say that this went a long way toward silencing any talk about the laptop — even after social media stopped throttling shared stories about it — is an understatement.
Remember, when you hear these “now the story can be told”-type missives, what officialdom is saying is, “OK, now I guess we can stop lying to you.” This is why the swamp needs to be drained with all due speed and never allowed to get even the slightest bit marshy again. Now that Kash Patel is director of the FBI, it’s high time we went back and unredacted these messages to find out who was really behind this outrageous cover-up.
