I can well imagine the similarities between indios and gypsies... You are probably more familiar with indios from southamerica then with gypsies... so that is naturally your first guess.

A lot of people in Central and South America look similar to Indians, the ones from India. Mestizos are Euro-indian mutts, so a lot of Caucasian blends in there. The few pure natives are very distinctive and most look a lot different from each other. When Cortez took down the Aztec vermin he had help from over 200,000 natives from dozens of tribes. Same with the Incas.

Spanish + Indio + Black African (there is also alot of black african not only spanish and indio) but not in everyone, in guatemala they are mostly indios or spanish + indios in cuba there are lots of blacks and whites though, and mullatos, same as in puerto rico (but less black maybe 15% black-25% black).

The vast majority of black slaves went to Brazil and the Caribbean, yes; Mexico and Central America far less so, same with northern and western South America. Not many in those regions would breed with blacks, and not all that many in Cuba either.

Some are fat, like the woman in first row with dyed light hair. I think they look like average people, not something like models who would create PR, my uneducated guess is they work for that organisation. It is a organisation. What I notice is no one of them is really very old probably that is why they do not look that bad.
